First Off: Let me thank the many community members of Belmond, Klemme, and surrounding areas who donated funds to purchase new books for the new library media center at R.O. Jacobson Elementary. We were able to purchase almost 600 new fiction and nonfiction hardback books, many of these to use with the Reading Counts! reading program. Please come in and see our new media center if you weren't able to tour on the Open House day.

We continue to locate and identify "Scholastic Reading Counts" books in the 7-12 collection. This identification is a continuation of the Reading Counts! program in the elementary school and will be used to increase reading comprehension and proficiency in the 7-12 grades. We are also adding new books from our jobbers at Baker & Taylor, Follett & Davidson Titles, as well as some of that were purchased at Belmond Public Library's Book Sale!
